Fiction Friday: 4 Great Reads + a Giveaway

As a voracious reader, my to-be-read pile never stops.

Literally it is towering beneath my desk and next to my bedside…and on a bookshelf. And you get the idea!

I love books too much. No. That’s not possible. I simply need a vacation to read all the books I have stockpiled. Yes, that’s better.

I’ve been reading such good books lately. Here are a couple I thought you might enjoy!

I love Sarah Ladd’s regency novels, and The Weaver’s Daughter is no different. She’s set this novel in the period of the weavers’ rebellion as mills are automating the production of cloth. The heroine is caught between the traditions of the weavers and the restrictions placed on women. The hero just wants to forget the war he’s returned from. Together they are caught betwixt and between the mores of their time, the clash of industry, and the tug of love. I’m giving away a copy of the ARC of this novel. Just use the form below to be entered. It was such a good read!

Another one I’ve been thoroughly enjoying is Regina Jenning’s latest novel, Holding the Fort. Regina’s novels always have such fun characters and a sense of humor that is delightful. This one has that, but so much more. There’s a heroine who’s trapped between her past, and what she hopes her future will be. A hero who wants to be more than he is and who is tied to a formal status due to his rank in the US Army. The conflict and challenges between them are real…and humorous. And the possibility of love is sweet…and tangled. For those who love westerns filled with romance and set in fun locations, this book is a fantastic read!

I haven’t forgotten those of you who love a great contemporary romance. Becky Wade’s latest, Falling For You, perfectly fits that bill. This novel builds on her list of strong family based novels, but with the fun of a world-class model and an injured professional football quarterback. I could relate to Willow so much! The oldest daughter who has (almost) always been perfect, and can’t confront or forget or forgive the time she wasn’t. And that has become an insurmountable mountain separating her from Corbin. Then a young girl asks for her help untangling a decades old mystery, and Willow’s walls begin to crumble. As they do, she has to wrestle with who she is and who she wants to be. Toe-curling romance wrapped inside a novel that is so much more!

And here’s one to add to your reading list since it releases at the beginning of July — just in time for that summer vacation. Formula of Deception is set in Alaska is filled with international intrigue, historical twists, and a broken heroine who is compelling. This novel is perfect for those who love a suspense that will keep you guessing as you turn the pages. I can’t tell if it’s the first in a series or a stand alone, but I was tugged through the story with a force that kept me wishing for just a few more minutes. It has pacing, a fascinating historical twist set in WWII so you know I loved it, and a heroine I just wanted to protect. A great story.

So now that you’ve seen a few of the books I’ve read, what are you reading? What’s the book you just can’t stop thinking about?
