Today I’m delighted to bring you two historical novels by two of my go-to authors. Kristi Ann Hunter writes great Regency novels, and Julianna Deering’s Drew Farthering mysteries are like stepping into a black & white film noire. I heartily enjoyed both of their latest books. An Uncommon Courtship
is a delightful Regency novel with a twist. Lord Trent is the second son, who is quite contenting letting the rest of the world think he will never grow up and that he will not be responsible. Lady Adelaide has lived in her sister’s shadow until she finds herself engaged and married to the second son. It’s not the match either of them had hoped for, but Trent decides to court her anyway. The story tells how that courtship flows, after all what could go wrong when he decides to court his wife? As you would expect, a lot does. Kristi Ann Hunter has quickly become one of my go-to regency authors. Her books are filled with great characters, fun plots, and enough depth to keep me reading. An Uncommon Courtship is perfect for those who love Jane Austen England or a richly layered historical.
Murder on the Moor: I adore the Thin Man movies, classic black & white murder flicks from the 30s and 40s. The Drew Farthering series has that film noir feel. Add in England as the setting, and it is perfection. With Murder on the Moor, Drew and Madeline are headed to the moors to help an old schoolmate of Drew’s. Odd things are happening on the moor and around Beaky’s estate, and now there’s been a murder. They go up to help sleuth about, but goings are slow and another murder occurs. Drew has a lot to learn in this novel…a lot about judging people and seeing them for who they are. The mystery is pitch perfect, and the love between Drew and Madeline sweet. I anticipated who the murderer was, but not who he was. You’ll have to read the book to see what I mean.
I adore Julianna Deering’s Drew Farthering novels and this was one a perfect addition to the series. Murder on the Moor is perfect for those who love BBC period pieces and a good mystery.

Oh, I have both of these books on my TBR list. I love regencies and I have been reading quite a bit of mysteries recently so both of the are right up my alley. 🙂 Thanks so much for the giveaway!
Wow! I am reading An Elegant Facade right now and I love these kinds of books! But I have read all the Drew Farthering books til now and can’t wait for the next one — I love the witty banter? It’s hard to choose ! Both????
They both sound great but would pick Murder on the Moor because I have read all the other books in this series, and would love to get the latest one!
I have read Kristi’s prequel novella and really enjoyed . Haven’t read any of the series yet .I haven’t read any of Julianna’s series yet, but I think I have the first one on my bookshelf so I would enjoy reading either of these books .
I love Kristi Ann Hunter’s Hawthorne House series and own all of them. The Drew Farthering series is excellent and I own several of those. I am eager to read Murder on the Moor because I haven’t read this one yet.
