About the Book

Caroline Bragg’s life has never been better. She and Brandon Lancaster are taking their relationship to the next level, and she has a new dream job as legal counsel for Praecursoria—a research lab that is making waves with its cutting-edge genetic therapies. The company’s leukemia treatments even promise to save desperately sick kids—kids like eleven-year-old Bethany, a critically ill foster child at Brandon’s foster home.

When Caroline’s enthusiastic boss wants to enroll Bethany in experimental trials prematurely, Caroline objects, putting her at odds with her colleagues. They claim the only goal at Praecursoria is to save lives. But does someone have another agenda?

Brandon faces his own crisis. As laws governing foster homes shift, he’s on the brink of losing the group home he’s worked so hard to build. When Caroline learns he’s a Praecursoria investor, it becomes legally impossible to confide in him. Will the secrets she keeps become a wedge that separates them forever? And can she save Bethany from the very treatments designed to heal her?

I loved Cara Putman’s LETHAL INTENT and rooted for her heroine Caroline Bragg through every twist and turn. This legal thriller perfectly captures what it’s like to grow from law clerk to lawyer, and when Caroline finds herself faced with a heartbreaking ethical dilemma that leads to the corporate battle of her life, she confronts the challenge with strength and resources she never knew she had. Putman seamlessly blends the story with a wonderfully inspiring romance, too. Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of LETHAL INTENT!”
Cara Putman knows how to craft a great novel. Lethal Intent is the total package. Intriguing characters. Romantic tension. Edge-of-your-seat suspense. And a fast-paced ending that will leave you exhausted (in a good way!).

With young lives hanging in the balance, the stakes could not be higher in Cara Putman’s Lethal Intent. Marginalized children, cutting edge science, long-reaching legal implications, a tough and tender hero, and a smart and stubborn heroine all combine in a finely crafted story that will have readers biting their nails and racing through the pages until the thrilling and satisfying conclusion.

Lethal Intent kept me on the edge of my seat. With a riveting plot involving the legal and ethical struggle to bring innovative stem cell research through FDA trials and, ultimately, to save lives, the stakes couldn’t be higher! I immediately connected with Caroline, her search for truth, and her unwavering stance to remain within the guidelines of the law. Brandon’s quest to provide a safe home for foster children, keeping siblings together, pulled at my heartstrings. Putman shines in her gift for weaving tangled threads together for a thrilling emotional read!

Lethal Intent is an emotional roller coaster that had me holding on to the edge of my seat with every deadly twist and turn. This chilling legal thriller tackles the world of modern medicine and how dangerously far they're willing to go for a cure...no matter the body count. High risks, fatal consequences, Cara Putman delivers an intense story that won't let you leave a page unturned.

It takes a writer of Cara Putman’s pedigree to pull off Lethal Intent’s intricate story of the cutthroat world of oncology research with its ethical and moral pitfalls while addressing the legal implications. Add to that the difficult and often heartbreaking world of foster care and Putman gives readers two stellar but still human characters for whom they can care deeply. She breaks my heart more than once, but then offers me a glimpse of hope. Even then she doesn’t tie up loose ends in a neat little bow. Because, I suspect, she knows life isn’t like that. Highly recommended for lovers of legal romantic suspense.
