Last night was disappointing for many of us. But as I watched the results pour in, here’s what I kept coming back to: God is in control.
Proverbs 21:1 The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD; he directs it like a watercourse wherever he pleases.
So here are a few things I commit to do more intentionally. Anyone want to join me?
1) I will pray with more intention for our leaders. They have immense power, but God has more. So I will turn to the one who can change hearts and ask Him to move.
2) I will be more active. When we left D.C. it was hard to get involved locally. Then we had more kids and I got busy and tired. Maybe it’s time to invest more time in an area I enjoy for a country I love.
3) I will continue to pray for a revival and restoration. Ultimately that is what we truly need. A government can’t make people be moral. It can provide an environment that makes it easier, but let’s go after heart change. Let’s have the church become the source of ideas and innovation. It’s happening in pockets, but let’s seek God for more.

Absolutely! the church didn’t die last night. We breathe, and Jesus is very much alive! Yeah!
