No, I don’t want to rant about the teams…though I don’t know who to root for now that the Colts, Giants and Saints are out. Sigh. It’s all about the quarterback for me…so I may have to fall back to the tried and true, who has more Huskers on their rosters way to pick.
Anyway, I wanted to rant.
About the advertising.
I’m seriously second-guessing whether the kids can be in the same house when we watch the Super Bowl based on the playoff ads.
And I’ve decided the advertisers and networks are more than happy to turn off football-loving women like me. The ads have been horrible. Movies I’d never in a million years go see — thank you very much, I don’t even want to watch the 30 second ad!
And the kids have become conditioned to turn around almost immediately when Eric and I go diving for a remote. Jonathan’s even talking about avoiding seeing evil things. All well and good but this is network TV on a weekend. During the day!
Ugh.
I’m liking the playoffs less each weekend.

I know what you mean! The commercials are horrid! And the Mannings out of the playoffs… *sigh* So sad, and the Packers didn’t even make it. Guess I’m hoping for a Cardinals and Steelers Super Bowl. Anyone but the Eagles! 🙂
I was just talking about this. We play a lot of board games but sometimes we like to watch funny movies or shows together.
The other night we watched Howie Do It thinking it would be like Candid Camera from when I was a kid. Puhlease! I was so angry that they had such adult content when it was on at 8:00. What happened to being able to watch with our kids?
Amen, sister…
Can you believe some people watch the SuperBowl just to see the commercials? A few aren’t too bad, but most of them make me sick.
I’m from Texas, so if it’s not the Cowboys or the Texans, I’m not real interested.
I’ll join your rant. I can’t stand the ads these days. They are soooo bad. Sex driven. I mean, really, give me a break!
We quick press “BACK” to fox news or something, so we’re good to go when commericals come on.
It’s bad.
Is there anything truly “family friendly” these days? I have to be careful what the boys see at this early age because I don’t want all this junk to be filed away into their brains to pop up, out of no where for the rest of their lives!
Thanks for the rant Cara!
