“Cara totally captured the essence that is the island. You will feel like you’re really there. It’s distinct culture is captivating and the pages capture it well. The characters nab you right from the beginning. The book is filled with intrigue and suspense. Murder — yes — murder. If the characters survive this book it might be a miracle, but of course, I won’t tell because that would be considered a spoiler. I don’t do spoilers. This book is a stolen kiss right before the gun goes off.”

“When I first started reading the story, I didn’t realize what I was getting myself into. While there was definitely a “romance” storyline to follow, I was more intrigued by the mystery that kept unfolding! The author, Cara C. Putman, does an excellent job in drawing the reader into the story. At times, there were multiple mystery lines to follow…and while I was pretty sure I had the one figured out, the other two were not so easy! I also loved how Putman brought Alanna’s past to light, allowing her to work through some aspects of her teen years to allow for continued healing in her present life. It’s a great reminder to us that although the past is best left in the past, sometimes you need to go back in order to move forward!”
